Ambassador Munir Akram belongs to Pakistan, spoke at the United nation Security Council in June 2024. His main focus was on the serious security threats coming from Afghanistan. According to him, the Taliban Administration is not fulfilling its promises to strongly oppose the TTP( Tehrik-e- Taliban Pakistan). 

The terrorist group is the cause of killing many people. It includes both civilians and soldiers. Ambassador also pointed out that these security complexities are not limited to one region but it is a worldwide problem. He also warned that if these types of threats are not controlled then it may lead to some dangerous results. These consequences harm global peace and stability. The purpose of his speech is to remind the international community that strict actions are necessary to control these threats and also for ensuring global safety. 

The people living in South Asia are also suffering from severe instability. This is because of the ongoing threats from Afghanistan. Akram also states that the root cause of this issue is the Taliban can not control the TTP. This failure puts the lives of many people in danger.  

TTP militants attacked the Chinese engineer at the Dasu Hydropower.  It clearly shows that Afghanistan is the nation where terrorism activity is not controlled fully. 

Ambassador Akram pushed the Security Council to make it clear to Afghanistan’s Islamic Emirates that they should not support the TTP, shut down their operations, and help send TTP leaders back to Pakistan to face justice.

He believes these actions are essential not just for Pakistan’s security but also to prevent Afghanistan from becoming a breeding ground for terrorists with global consequences.

The upcoming summit of the United Nation in Doha is an important opportunity for world leaders. They have discussed the security issues and found solutions to tackle all of these complexities. 

Ambassador Akram believes this meeting should prioritize diplomatic strategies to ensure the Taliban fulfill their promises, closely monitored by the international community. 

On the other hand, Roza Otunbayeva, the UN Special Representative for Afghanistan, warns that working with the Taliban should not be seen as endorsing their leadership. She highlights the shared concerns about human rights abuses under the Taliban’s rule and stresses the urgent need for political stability within Afghanistan, given the severe economic crisis and humanitarian problems impacting millions of its citizens.

At this time, Afghanistan is suffering from a very tough situation. More than 23 million people of this nation need urgent help. So, it is the responsibility of the world leaders to come together and collect the aid to help Afghanistan. It is also important to support the region’s stability. It is the responsibility of Talikban to protect human rights and fulfill their duties very well. Also they should ensure that Afghanistan does not become a hotspot for terrorism again. Also the international community should take part in order to solve such problems effectively. 

Pakistan is a nation hosting thousands of refugees. This generous action from Pakistan is the great step to solve problems. Despite these efforts, Afghan soil is used to put Pakistan in a danger zone. This action also caused instability in the region. However, Pakistan is fulfilling its commitment to help afghsan’s refugees. 

The security problems in South Asia also require different strategies. It includes diplomatic efforts, strong anti-terrorism actions, humanitarian aid, and sustainable development plans. The upcoming Doha summit is a crucial moment for all leaders. Every leader should show the determination to discuss the issues and find the solution to all problems.
